Frequently asked questions
At what sales level should I upgrade from Shopify Basic to Grow?
Grow costs more per month but charges 2.7% + 30 cents instead of 2.9% + 30 cents on Shopify Payments. Enter your revenue and orders and the table shows the point where Grow becomes cheaper for you.
Is Shopify Advanced worth it?
Advanced is $399 a month ($299 billed annually) with a 2.5% + 30 cents card rate. It only pays for itself at higher volumes, which the comparison table shows for your own numbers.
Do I pay more if I do not use Shopify Payments?
Yes. Shopify adds a third-party transaction fee of 2% on Basic, 1% on Grow and 0.6% on Advanced, and your gateway charges its own fees too. That makes the higher plans cheaper sooner.
Does this include apps and themes?
No. It compares plan prices and payment processing only, so add your app and theme costs separately.
